In House Designer

Location: London (Hybrid - three days in the office)

Salary: £24,000 - £30,000 depending on experience

About the role

​

The In House Designer has a pivotal role in ensuring Trafalgar Strategy has the creative capability needed to support our political and corporate clients’ visual communications needs. 

 

Your primary focus will be to develop ideas and create digital, print, video and OOH collateral for clients across our portfolio. You will also support in other areas of work for Trafalgar including managing our website and taking ownership of our social media channels.

Duties and responsibilities/What you’ll be doing

​

  • Assisting in the development and execution of an effective content strategy for our clients

  • Participating in the content creation process by researching and putting forward ideas

  • Planning and executing social media campaigns, both organic and paid

  • Reporting on the results of campaigns and developing insights to help improve the effectiveness of future campaigns

  • Support in the design of publications and other written work (both print and digital) 

  • Design images, videos and infographics for various channels, including content for paid social media campaigns

  • Design other items, as necessary, for example, pull-up banners or flyers


 

Other responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the company website, including liaising with external vendors

  • Manage the social media channels for Trafalgar Strategy

  • Develop promotional materials for Trafalgar Strategy’s podcast - Hacks & Flaks

  • Manage the design for the company monthly newsletter and liaise with internal stakeholders to create and update copy

Qualifications and Experience

​

Essential knowledge and experience:

​

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about all things relating to design, digital, creative and PR

  • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro (or equivalent)

  • Proficient in G Suite

  • A basic understanding of SEO

  • Social media scheduling tools, including Hootsuite

  • Experience of running paid targeted adverts on Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter

  • MailChimp or other e-mail marketing software

  • A basic understanding of web development

​

Desirable knowledge and experience:

​

  • 1+ years’ experience working as an in-house designer

  • Adobe Acrobat and Adobe After Effects

  • Microsoft Access Database / SQL

  • Knowledge of Premiere Pro, Final Cut or other video editing software
     

You will also be:

  • Able to work in a team where the workload is shared to meet tight deadlines.

  • Have a high-level of organisational and administrative skills.

  • Able to maintain confidential and sensitive information and be discreet about the affairs of Trafalgar Strategy and its clients.

  • Someone with a positive attitude and with high levels of integrity, honesty and credibility.

  • Passionate continuous learning and developing your skills.
