Trafalgar Strategy is looking for a Junior Consultant to join our fast growing team.

 

This is an entry level position, in which time will be split 50/50 between client work and providing administrative assistance in the office. 

 

We are a strategic communications consultancy that advises on reputation and media management, campaigns, ESG, public affairs and complex communications challenges. We draw on experience from the highest levels of government in the UK and internationally. In recent years, we have delivered award-winning campaigns and dealt with some of the biggest issues that have led TV news bulletins and dominated newspaper front pages.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious communications professional to join a growing team and work on key accounts spanning corporate reputation, public affairs and media relations. Your primary focus will be to assist in delivering both proactive and reactive media engagement strategies to our client. There is plenty of opportunity to develop your role and take on more responsibility in managing relationships with clients.

Duties and responsibilities

​

  • Carrying out research to support new business proposals and pitches

  • Writing press releases, news stories, articles and case studies

  • Arranging and coordinating interviews

  • Working as part of a team to brainstorm and develop ideas

  • Monitoring political debates and media developments

  • Building relationships with key journalists

  • Proactively pitching to the media on behalf of our clients

  • Attending client events and industry conferences

  • Monitoring media coverage and reporting results to the team and clients

  • Researching and creating media lists

  • Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices 

  • Taking notes on client calls and meetings

  • Supporting in managing relationships with key clients

  • General day-to-day administrative assistance, such as diary management and event planning.

Skills Required:​

​

  • Excellent written and spoken English

  • First class copywriting skills with forensic attention to detail

  • Creative flair for producing engaging communications

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Confident telephone manner

  • Interest in media and current affairs

  • Research skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of different forms of media, including social, broadcast and print media. 

  • A high-level of organisational and administrative skills
